Margie and Frank, April 29, 2000

Frank and I met, of all places, on the Internet.
Frank's Story
Margie's Story
I tried a lot of other dating services over the years and hadn't connected with anyone on an emotional level. I spoke to a friend of mine who told me that a co-worker of his was using Yahoo! Personals and was actively dating as a result. So I made up my web page and signed up.

I started answering ads, and started corresponding with several people. Many of them were nice, but none were exactly what I was looking for. I remember when I got my first email from Margie. She answered my ad, and sent me an intriguing introduction to herself. She was the first person who seemed to have the qualities, similarities and interests that I was looking for.

When we started dating, we both thought that we would just be friends. How wrong we were! To both of our surprise, we found ourselves wrapped in each other's arms -- drawn in by the strong emotional bond we'd developed. We have such a healthy relationship, I can honestly say that I like who I am when I'm with her.

I probably wouldn't have tried a Yahoo! Personals ad if it hadn't been for the fact that my mom had met a really wonderful guy through an Internet Personal and the two of them are very happily married now. So I figured, "What the heck! It's worth a shot." I certainly wasn't meeting the person I was looking for elsewhere. I placed my own ad in addition to browsing the guy's ads, looking for someone special to spend time with.

I distinctly remember the day I found Frank's ad. I was feeling frustrated at not having been able to find what I was looking for, when there he was... the ad seemed almost too good to be true. I didn't know if he'd even respond, or if he'd be anything like he said he was, but I knew I wouldn't find out if I didn't contact him, so I sent off an email to him.

In some ways I was shocked that he responded. We had plenty in common and soon were writing regularly to each other. Eventually writing turned into phone calls and phone calls turned into dates. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that we lived only two and a half blocks away from each other!

Our friendship has gradually developed into a loving relationship that continues to grow slowly and deeply. I love the way we play together, the way we take care of each other and the way we just enjoy being around each other. I can't imagine not having him as a part of my daily life and I am so grateful for all of the days that are so much more joyful and full of wonder because we share them.

Our relationship continues to grow stronger and more fulfilling with time.
After 18 months of dating, on Dec 10, 2000, Frank proposed to Margie and she accepted!
