In one scene, she goes out with a Texas oilman. At a fancy nightclub, he decides to show off his dancing skills. It turns out that he knows a lot of Lindy steps.

  • **The Miracle Of Morgan's Creek (1943) Dir: Preston Sturges
  • **Since you went away (1943) An airline hangar, full of dancers were shown performing high energy swing as well as the waltz and foxtrot.
  • **Stage Door Canteen (1943, Dir. Frank Borzage) people Lindying to one of Kay Kiser's songs. Stars Katherine Hepburn and has both Benny Goodman and Count Basie in it.
  • **Stormy Weather (1943) This stars Lena Horne, they mention Lindy Hop in a club scene (not much lindy in the scene, though) There is some Lindy, supposedly a basic and some Charleston moves. There is a number with Cab Calloway, but it is mostly a Hollywood musical. Also there is an entire chorus of Zoot suited dancers in the Finale.

  • The Canterville Ghost (1944) Directed by Jules Dassin with Margaret O'Brien -- there's a scene with some GI's dancing in it.
  • **Follow The Boys (1944) Dir: A. Edward Sutherland, two soldiers dancing together (very brief scene)

  • Call of the Jitterbug (1988) Documentary on Lindy Hop
  • **Malcolm X (1992) -- Ryan Francois is one of the dancers
  • **Sneakers (1992) In the party scene, Dan Akroyd does what appears to be a swing-out with his partner. The whole shot probably lasts less than three or four seconds, but hey, its still there.

  • **The Mask (1994) OK, so it's not Lindy Hop, but the band is Royal Crown Revue
  • **Grease (1978), Again, there's no Lindy Hop, but it certainly is a film that dancers love...
  • **Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), Judy Garland & Margaret O'Brien -- may or may not have Lindy in it
  • **A League of Their Own (1992): Swing dancing in a bar -- probably not Lindy
  • **Swingers (1996) - a slice of the L.A. Swing scene, however, not the slice that I hang out with -- it doesn't have Lindy Hop in it, but some people associate it with the L.A. Swing Scene (The Derby is featured in it)
  • Chicken Run (2000) Directed by Peter Lord & Nick Park -- There's a good scene of the chickens dancing east coast swing in this one.
  • Black 'n' Blue A Broadway play that earned Frankie Manning a Tony for his choreography
