The End of An Era... No More Swing Email List
I am sorry to report that I have decided that I can no longer do the
SCLS calendar or forum. I am simply finding that my motivation and
time are not allowing me to return to it.
I am grateful for the 12 years I have spent as a key part of the Lindy
Hop community in Southern California and have enjoyed immensely what I
have done, but it's time for me to let it go.
I will retain my website, but am going to transition it into something
that I don't have to update on a constant basis.
Thank you so much to all of you who have kept me going these 12 years.
Without the feedback I've gotten, I would have given this venture up
long ago. Special thanks to PBDA for getting me started in Lindy Hop
in the first place.
May you always have plenty of good music and room on the dance floor!
My goal in life is still to promote world peace by spreading the love
of Lindy Hop. Hope to see you out there!
Places To Find Out About Lindy Hopping
Many of you have asked if there's another place you can get your up to
the minute information on where to go Lindy dancing now... here are
the suggestions that have come in so far (in no particular order).
- Brian Shim has a website: http://www.lalindyhop.com/
with a calendar of events for LA and OC Email: swingbrian@gmail.com
- Darrell Hope DarrellH@dga.org runs an email list called DWDr
He says his list is "not entirely devoted to Lindy (I've widened it's
range to include blues, the occasional Latin act, or anything I think
people who started off in swing can dance to) and mostly geared for
people residing on the west side of LA" but anyone is welcome to join!
- Nancy Lester runs http://www.ocdance.com/ for dancing in OC and LA
and you can sign up for her email list on that page. It appears that
she covers all kinds of dancing and not just lindyhop. nancy@ocdance.com
- Shesha Marvin runs: http://www.thelindyhop.com
